Saturday was a Special Day

We had a busy Saturday morning beginning at 6:00 AM. We got up to head over to Pat's Run. I'd been dreading/excited for the race. It's my first since getting knocked up. It's only 4.2 miles, but up to that point I hadn't run more than 2. Unfortunately I did not take advantage of the dozens of porta-potties on site before the race and was crippled by the yearnings of my bladder up until mile 4, when I reached those blessed porta-potties again. I made a bee-line from the path and relieved myself. I tell ya, that last 0.2 miles I was running like the wind. I like to think that my time would have been significantly better had I not been bothered by pee on the brain the whole race. But in reality, I probably would have done the same. I am proud that I did do the race, even though I had about 12 minute miles. Casey pushed Maddie in the stroller, and she did great the whole time. Her first race. Sniff.

Later that day we finally planted flowers on our patio. The planter's brackets don't quite fit over the brick wall, so it looks a little sloppy from the outside. But from our view, it's great! It just makes it feel a little less like a tiny condo and more like a home. We love it.

Yay for running! Good work on the race. I have a stress fracture on my foot and can't run right now, so I am jealous.
